Meditech Operating Room Management (ORM) original build with ongoing maintenance and integrity of OR clinical information dictionaries including supplies, equipment, instrumentation and others while coordinating operations reporting for HIM, Finance, Materials Management, Patient Access, Infection Prevention, Risk Management.
Sterile Processing Management (SPM) data optimization for sterile instruments and trays, decontamination and sterilization processes while coordinating integration and standardization with internal and external hospital departments and outlying specialty clinics, urgent care, emergency rooms and ambulatory care facilities.
My career has provided me with extremely diverse opportunities including administrator experience with Meditech, SharePoint, Sterile Processing Management (SPM), Kronos, API, Inovar, Citrix, 3D Inspection software programs and many others which progressed through a variety of settings, both clinical and non-clinical.
Two areas of extensive build/data experience:
Clinical informaticist providing clinical expertise to improve the dictionary content directly serving Surgery and Procedural areas. Areas that flow into direct patient care, including preference cards and case preparation for sterile processing (instruments), central sterile supplies and implants, and pharmacy. Provide support and experience for content enhancements for testing, client support, education/training, and clinical content into EMR (EPIC, Meditech-ORM/MM/PCS).
Preference card standardization, picklist optimization, cleanup and incorporation of tips to improve case picking, preparation and put-away.
Resource optimization, standardization, and parallel work – matching available resources including software data clean-up and optimization, developing and integrating existing and new technology solutions.
Some Past Successes
- Supplies, Implants, Instruments & Equipment Storage Prioritization Tool:As the Interventional Advisor and subject matter expert during the design development phase operational planning workshops were held to test the design of the building against the needs from a patient, staff and equipment/supply perspective. I also worked to develop a strategy evaluating future state proposed storage space needs with a deep dive analysis into supplies and equipment flow and storage. The deliverable was the development of a tool creating a tiered system for line-item analysis making it for staff to easily evaluate and prioritize equipment, supplies and implants for the interventional platform which informed strategic, operational, functional and space planning.
